Payment Schedule
A 10% deposit to reserve your space on a tour is due at the time of booking.
Payments can be made by cheque or International Bank Transfer; any processing charges or fees are responsibility of the payer. The full payment will have to be paid 60 days before the start of the tour.
All tours are priced and charged in Euros (€) and payments must be made to match the Euro amount.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to join your tour as planned, we will provide any paperwork needed for your insurance claim, should you wish to reclaim any retained travel or tour costs. If you have to leave the tour for any reason, including but not limited to illness (including COVID-19) or injury, there will be no refund and you will be responsible for the costs associated with being removed from the tour and any additional expenses incurred as a result.
For All Tours: Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to insufficient bookings. We will inform participants of cancellations due to insufficient bookings at the earliest possible point and no later than 30 days prior to the tour departure date.
If a tour has to be cancelled once the tour has commenced and due to circumstances beyond our control such as: political instability, civil disturbances, natural phenomena (fires, floods , storms or others potential weather conditions) epidemics, health risks and pandemics, there will be no refund from Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions.
Prior to the tour, Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions is not responsible for expenses incurred by trip participants in preparing for a cancelled trip (for example non-refundable advance purchase plane tickets, equipment or any other travel plans associated with your travel).
Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions will make every reasonable effort to contact you as soon as it appears that a trip may be cancelled.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, including interruption, cancellation and medical coverage to cover costs associated with your travel in case of unforeseen circumstances (family or work emergencies, delayed flights, lost baggage etc.)
Please contact your travel insurance provider to ensure you have appropriate coverage for your entire trip
Trip Preparation
Once your tour is booked and your deposit is received by us, you will receive an email with a detailed documents (Pre – trip information and the final bulletin) that includes everything that you will need to prepare for your tour (including an itinerary, packing list and useful information about Portugal).
Group travel
By travelling with Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions, the participant agrees to follow the instructions given by the guides.
Wildlife and Weather
The marine life of Madeira Island and the Azores Archipelago is rich in animal species.
We cannot guarantee the sighting of marine species during our tours. Weather conditions, the time of year and other natural factors may mean that species normally seen may not be visible.
Passports
Guests travelling from outside Portugal but within the European Community must carry a valid passport or identity card.
Guests travelling from outside the European Community must carry a valid passport.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you fulfil the entry requirements for your trip. Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions cannot be held responsible for refusal of entry.

Accommodations on Tour
Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions will do our best to make you comfortable and feel at home on your tour.
On our expeditions we always try to stay in typical local accommodation (rural accommodation, rural hotels). We always try to contribute to the development of the local population.
Gratuities
Gratuities are not included in your tour costs. Gratuities are always appreciated. If you feel the guides and crew have done an exceptional job, tipping is a great way to show your appreciation. How much to give is entirely up to each guest.
Privacy Policy
Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions occasionally sends out information, that we think you’ll want to hear about. We will assume you agree to email correspondence when you make a reservation or provide us with your email, if not please let us know. We will NEVER SELL your email address or personal data to any company.
(Usually in the United States there is a check box when you Reserve a trip that asks if you want to receive emails with Offers and Marketing.
I believe in Europe it might also be the standard now of “Consent for receiving emails”.
Usually most kayak operators add an option to “Join our Newsletter” which is an automatic consent.
Given you will be dealing with many international jurisdictions it is probably wise to change the email sending to an “active” subscription rather than a “passive one”. This means that the clients have to actively sign up to receive information emails, rather than unsubscribe if they don’t want it.
The easiest is to add a paragraph when booking a trip and a Yes / No option.
The last thing you want to do is to fall foul of some international marketing / consumer protection law)

Media Release
Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions reserves the right to take and collect photographic, film and video records and content from any of its tours. Trip members should be aware that Kayak Portugal Tours – 7 Rivers Expeditions may use this content for promotional and / or commercial purposes without remuneration to the trip participants.
